Jocelyn Snow, true to her Taurus nature, is a forever student of the Earth, raised by the tide pools and Eastern pines of Maine. It was in this nurturing soil where she planted the first seeds in her movement garden at age four. Coming from technical ballet and modern training at her home studio of Drouin Dance Center, Jocelyn continued along this path in the Alonzo King LINES Ballet BFA Program, until she felt that her soul was pulling her in other directions. With an urge to step out of the artistic bounds she had found herself tied up in, Jocelyn dedicated herself a year to finding her artistic voice, where she developed a close relationship with Little House Dance, and authentic movement practices. Most recently, Jocelyn completed the Big Bang Training Program in Montréal, Quebec (programs 14 & 15), directed by the incomparable, Stéphanie Decourteille. It was here that she had access to both incredibly diverse training (street, breaking, acrobatics, floor work, jumpstyle, somatics, indigenous dance practices, dramaturgy, and more) and the opportunity to choreograph and perform two new works, with the guidance and mentorship of Stéphanie. She later went on to perform her piece, clairconduit, in The Junction Dance Festival 2025, located in White River Junction, Vermont. Jocelyn is fresh to the city of Chicago, and eager to develop new roots in the bountiful movement community here.
Jocelyn receives much of her creative energy through frequent indulgences with mother earth, and her second most precious love, writing.
