i have singing birds as my alarm
Each year I am here, I am a different self. Soft and valuable.
Inspired by the physical and spiritual sensations of a week spent entangled in a world of swaying pine trees and dancing seaweed off the coast of Maine, I Have Singing Birds as My Alarm, is a research of the deep intrinsic desire to be connected to the natural world. It is an exploration of oneness, immersion, and the yearning to be part of something larger. It challenges us to observe what we deem as valuable in our productivity-based, power driven society in the West, and forces us to question how we are creating shortcuts to nature in our personal lives as a result of these values that are so deeply ingrained in us.
